This is a healing practice from 4th Century AD. It may take a while to feel your organs, but you can trust in the incredible benefits of this practice from the beginning. Your vagus nerve runs through each of these organs, making this practice extra soothing for your whole being.

Each of the 5 major yin organs has an elemental quality, a healing color, a cleansing sound, emotions that express in its contracted state, emotions that express in its expanded state. Each has a yang organ that it pairs with. The yin organs store, the yang organs clear. Each correlates to a sense organ(s) and other functional system(s). You can choose to work on one or more organ at a time.

HEART: Fire / Red / Haaaa (rhymes with jaw)

Emotions: Impatience, Apathy / Joy, Enthusiasm

Yang Pair: Small Intestine

Correlation: Tongue, Circulatory System

SPLEEN / PANCREAS: Earth / Gold / Whoooo (like an espresso machine)

Worry, Anxiety / Openness, Trust

Yang Pair: Stomach

Correlation: Mouth, Musculature System, Lymph System

LUNGS: Metal / White / Sssss (like a snake)

Grief, Self Criticism / Courage, Confidence

Yang Pair: Large Intestine

Correlation: Nose, Skin, Respiratory System

KIDNEYS: Water / Blue / Chwoooo (like running water)

Fear, Shame / Tranquility,

Gentleness

Yang Pair: Bladder

Correlation: Adrenals, Ears, Bones, Reproductive System

LIVER: Wood / Green / Shhhh (like hushing a baby)

Anger, Lack / Self Love, Generosity

Yang Pair: Gallbladder

Correlation: Eyes, Nails, Nervous System

ORGAN SMILING: Rub the organ you are working with in a loving way that feels good. Smile into it. Thank it. Fill it with its healing light color while sending it love and gratitude.

ORGAN CLEARING: Rub the organ you are working with, smiling into it with love and gratitude. Press on the organ during exhale, making the organ clearing sound. Inhale, slowly pulling your hands away from the organ, removing blockages and stagnation. Exhale, palms face the earth as you drop the old energy to the earth to compost.

Inhale fresh energy into your hands as you bring them back to the organ.

Repeat 3x on each organ. Follow by breathing the organ’s healing light color into it, to nurture it after this clearing.

INTEGRATION: Before or after clearing the organs, harmonize them with one full round of Organ Smiling.

If you are wondering whether to do Smiling or Clearing, tune into what your body is asking for. Sometimes we need extra rest after clearing. Be aware that the clearing is detoxifying so drink extra water and be gentle with yourself. Unprocessed emotions may be releasing.

THE 6th SOUND, TRIPLE WARMER

This is your body’s central channel, where the heaven and earth energies connect, creating yin/yang harmony. The heavenly gate is on the center of the crown of your head. The earthly gate is your perineum. This channel runs down your spine, so this is an incredible way to soothe the sympathetic nervous system. Use this anytime (by itself, before or after working with your organs) you feel ungrounded or depleted to tune into the ever supportive energies of heaven (yang) and earth (yin).

This connects your 3 brains (dan tiens): Mental Brain (head), Emotional Brain (heart), Instinctual Brain (guts). It takes the pressure off the often overheated mental brain, reminding it that it’s not alone.

TRIPLE WARMER: Purple / Heeee (breathy, like the sound of a protective cat)

Panic, Fight or Flight / Balance, Harmony
